Hi, I've been looking for a simple expense tracker/ budget app just to keep on daily cash personal expenses and this seems good to try.
I would like to know if:

Can you set budgets on it, if yes how many ?
Can you disable the location, photo and scan features?
Do you need to give personal information or does it need to be hooked with personal bank accounts?

Hi,

I just tried Wally and I simply love the UI; it's gorgeous.

However, I think it's missing some important features to be a useful and usable personal financial app:
1. Search function!
2. Add new expense without entering passcode.
3. Add/edit more categories.
4. Search function!

Hope to see those features in the coming updates.

True, Jobs was an immense factor in the magic of Apple events, but also the fact that almost every detail is getting leaked beforehand is robbing the events of the mystery and surprise part.I guess that's the price to pay for being the most-watched company in the world.

Everything about Apple Keynote was masterminded by Jobs. With four events since Jobs left, it is evidentiary that he is missed everyday. I don't think we can see that anymore. Its history. Meanwhile, the same emotions still exist in the videos and Johnny Ive is always at his best at rationalizing. Look at EarPods.

I'm not saying social is bad, it's very good and sometimes it's more than great...
But when it comes to businesses making money from social, it just doesn't work, yet.

The amount of investment put into social media by some of the biggest brands massively outweighs the results, even in the most optimistic estimates, and I speak from experience without naming those brands.

I've wrote a draft that does the math on a hypothetical social media campaign, hope I can clean it and post it in a couple of days.

Not all companies should go social, but some companies could use social tools like Twitter to kind of stay close to the customers. That way the customer feels more connected to the brand/company which may lead to a sale.

To track the social driven sales they could simply implement a special keyword, parameters or a URL which the site could use to let the admin notice that. I don't think it is hard.

After all, it is the customer who is most important.

This is exactly my point!
The media is always depicting a rosy view of entrepreneurship and people go into it thinking it's all freedom, excitement and riches. They have no idea of what they need to do to just stay alive, let alone get rich.

When you have your own business you can work as hard as you like: and then some more whether you like it or not!

Many people who have a passion for what they do, think that starting their own business will give them more freedom to do what they really enjoy. And that's indeed partly true. I, for one, get to do some great work and a lot of times get to refuse work I don't want. However, there's a whole slew of stuff that everyone tends to underestimate when starting out that consumes your time and that you really don't have much choice over. Often what moves your business along is simply working as hard as you possibly can.

Nice post.
I've always thought that all these entrepreneurial events happening around the Arab world recently (Startup Weekend and such) are not that awesome, because It somehow gives a message that entrepreneurship is easier than your boring daily job while it's not. Some people go for entrepreneurship just because of the peer pressure, which is -I think- explains why most startups that started in such events, don't survive much, in fact I think they attend such events for the prizes and that's it.

Also, I remember back in SWCairo #2, there were lots of ridiculous ideas pitched, I think the judges need to be more tough, a real entrepreneur would know how to deal with criticism and move on with his startup if he really believe in it.

I don't like all these NGOs and initiative promoting entrepreneurship as the greatest thing ever, sure it's great, but some people are just not born to be entrepreneurs, people need to understand that entrepreneurship sucks, you don't need to be an entrepreneur to change the world, the entrepreneurial culture is all about doing what you truly love so that you won't suffer much.

You were surprised to see me in SWCairo, but I didn't go there to form a new startup, I went there so that I can write some codes and have fun away from home and studying all day. Good reason, eh? :P Always nice to meet you.

True, it's not going to be as effective as it is there, but even when it comes to texting, calling, scheduling appointments, searches, reading news, tweets, etc. it's still worth it!
